On September 22, 2026, the 1st Workshop on Dependable AI in Embedded Systems (DAIES 2026) was successfully held in Valencia, as part of SafeComp 2026.

The workshop brought together researchers and practitioners interested in the challenges of deploying dependable Artificial Intelligence in embedded and safety-critical systems, featuring a rich program of technical presentations covering topics such as AI dependability, fault tolerance, reliability assessment, embedded AI, and trustworthy intelligent systems.

A particularly interesting highlight of the day was the keynote “From Silicon to Outer Space: Deploying Neuromorphic AI and SWaP Optimization in Critical Embedded Environments”, delivered by Daniel Gutiérrez, CEO and founder of Intigia. The keynote explored the challenges and opportunities associated with deploying AI in resource-constrained and safety- and mission-critical environments, with particular attention to neuromorphic computing, Edge AI, hardware/software co-design, and SWaP optimization.

The workshop provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss current challenges, and explore future research directions at the intersection of dependable AI and embedded systems.

We would like to thank all the authors, speakers, keynote speaker, reviewers, session chairs, and participants who contributed to making DAIES 2026 a successful and stimulating event.

We look forward to continuing these discussions and to the future editions of DAIES!

This workshop is organized under the umbrella of the NeuroAI4Space project, co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Comunitat Valenciana 2021-2027 Programme, through the IVACE+i Innovation calls, “Strategic Cooperation Projects” (Reference INNEST/2025/339), Project “Neuromorphic Artificial Intelligence Processor for Artificial Vision in aerospace applications” (NeuroAI4Space).
