The project “Neuromorphic Artificial Intelligence Processor for Computer Vision in Aerospace Applications” has been awarded public funding under the Strategic Cooperative Projects Programme of the Agència Valenciana de la Innovació (AVI – IVACE+i Innovación) for the 2025–2027 period.

The initiative focuses on developing a neuromorphic AI processor optimised for real-time computer vision in aerospace environments, enabling high-performance visual processing with low power consumption. This technology is particularly suited for applications such as satellites, unmanned aerial systems, and other autonomous aerospace platforms.

The project is part of a competitive programme supporting large-scale collaborative R&D initiatives with high technological maturity and strong market potential. Its selection highlights the strategic importance of neuromorphic computing and edge artificial intelligence for next-generation aerospace systems and reinforces the role of innovation in strengthening the regional and European aerospace ecosystem.

This work has been co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Comunitat Valenciana 2021-2027 Programme, through the IVACE+i Innovation calls, “Strategic Cooperation Projects” (Reference INNEST/2025/339), Project ”Neuromorphic Artificial Intelligence Processor for Artificial Vision in aerospace applications” (NeuroAI4Space).
